This role will entail electrical and mechanical inspections that will lead to planning and the repair of overhead cranes. You will be expected to know service policies and review with our clients the repairs that need made and the course of action that will need to be taken. You will also have the opportunity to generate sales and service leads if possible. Perform maintenance inspections on electric overhead traveling cranes at customer locations.
Conduct extensive on site electrical, electronic and mechanical troubleshooting to determine cause for equipment malfunction and establish the necessary repairs utilizing visual inspection, test procedures and appropriate test equipment.
Perform on site repairs on overhead traveling cranes in conjunction with planned repairs as part of customer's maintenance contract, in response to a service call or on an emergency call due to an equipment breakdown.
Responsible for a basic understanding and working knowledge or all CSA, OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, and other codes or regulations pertaining to our industry. Must be able to get specific regulations if requested.
Responsible for completing all daily paperwork required accurately and completely.
Document and log any quotations you provide customers (either verbal or written) and generate a document or copy of your quote for use as a follow-up sheet.
Review with the customer all repairs you performed and get their signature on the daily service report indicating their acceptance of proper and completed work.
Responsible for maintaining a professional appearance and image at all times.
Maintain all company equipment and assets in proper working order and neat or clean.
Maintain a stock of the appropriate forms and literature on the service vehicle and be capable of utilizing the proper documentation and forms used by the service department.
Responsible for keeping a proper stock level of inventory and line stock items on the service vehicle.
Accountable for all the company issued tools, ladders, and inventory levels assigned to you.
Responsible for generating sales and service leads during service calls and identifying the proper personnel of the customer's need and level of interest.
Must develop a thorough working knowledge of our service literature, service policies and labor rates.
Must provide customers with a "Safety Summary" on any safety items noticed during service visits and bring back a signed copy of the document as evidence of our notice to the customer. (This is a basic professional courtesy required at all times. It also may protect from any liability if the crane is used.)
Must maintain regular communication with the local office and/or call in a minimum of once per day to the service branch.
Responsible for understanding the procurement of basic parts on service jobs, completing the proper purchase orders and developing a good working knowledge of local vendors and vendor stocked parts. If the job permits or the situation warrants, all the ordering of parts for jobs should be done by the technician servicing the account and this time should be billed to the project.
Responsible for working a "fair share" of any 24-hour calls and overtime necessary. This will be divided as equally as possible by the service supervisor/planner.
Responsible for completing a "Safety Audit" on the limit switches and proper general operation of any crane you have worked on or inspected prior to leaving the customer's premises.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum one (1) year experience involving electrical and electronic troubleshooting and repair. Must have good mechanical aptitude, good driving record and cannot be afraid of heights. Prior experience on cranes a plus.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have and maintain a good driving record, including a valid driver’s license. Must be willing and able to work off the ground. Must be able to work varied overtime, as required by customer, be available for “on call” as part of the service office rotation and be able to travel and work out of town, on occasion. Must be able work off step ladders, climb fixed or step ladders, work from various type lifts, wear full body harness fall protection equipment and use properly, wear canister type mask and/or self-contained breathing apparatus when required as personal protective equipment (PPE). Frequent lifting of parts and/or components weighing 10- 20 pounds and occasional lifting of parts and/or components weighing 30-50 pounds. Infrequent lifting of parts and/or components weighing over 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk and climb for extended periods.
EDUCATION: Associate’s degree in Industrial Electricity, Electronic Engineering Technology or related field or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience are preferred

This Territory covers Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee and Kentucky. Candidate must reside in the territory area.
This position will be an engineered modernization technical support sales position responsible for interfacing primarily with the Konecranes organization to further expand our current electrics factory (VFD control systems) sales growth in the eastern territory for Region Americas. Individual will be responsible for providing technical sales, product and application support by performing joint sales calls, quotations and product training with the frontline organization. This position will also formulate and establish sales action plans, budgets/forecasts, annual goals and objectives.
Specific duties include, but not limited to; frontline sales support for technical inquiries, sales activities, and product training. Including assisting in generating detailed proposals that reflect an understanding of the customer's core processes and offering solutions to improve safety, productivity and return on investment. Also understanding how to network with all industries, to introduce our electrics factory products offerings using a proactive management directive involving lead generation concepts to maintain consistent sales funnel.
QUALIFICATIONS : This position requires the skill set in effectiveness for territory management planning, engineering processes, and advance communication abilities. The individual should have a technical expertise for electrical and field installations relating to the overhead crane industry specifically with Variable Frequency Drive systems. A qualified candidate needs to reside in the territory and should be able to process technical information and provide technical instructions. Being able to read and understand mechanical and electrical prints. Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word are required. Verbal and written communication plays a key role in this position.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent industry experience with technical expertise in electrical crane control sales or application will be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Travel estimated at 50 to 60% is required to meet with customers, conduct product instruction for both sales and technical resources and visit all branch locations.

Engage in various sales activities to sell safety and productive retrofits, components, modernization and new equipment to existing customers and develop new accounts to meet minimum established sales quotas.

Monitor the contract renewal process to ensure customer needs are met in a timely manner and opportunities are not lost. Contact accounts that are not renewing their agreements. Document all sales activity in the CRM System. Establish and maintain on-going communications with the service department to address issues related to the customer base.
Maintain customer and contact information in the CRM software, as required.
Follow all established safety rules and procedures, including those established by the customer.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years’ experience in service related sales preferred however equivalent education, experience and training will be considered. Service Technicians provide inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at varied customer locations, as directed. Be available “on call” as part of service office rotation and provide after hours service, as required.
• Conduct on-site electrical, mechanical, structural and electronic troubleshooting to determine cause for equipment malfunction and establish the necessary repairs utilizing visual inspection, test procedures and appropriate test equipment. Perform a general post repair audit prior to completion of work, documenting that all required safety features are functional or documenting deficiencies and attaching a deficiency tag to the crane.
• Document findings and make corrective recommendations to the customer including a written “Safety Notification” of any observed or known safety concerns, if appropriate. Determine customer’s intentions to purchase repairs and advise local service office of actions necessary to sell or complete the repairs.
• Consult with customer regarding all repair and safety related issues and discuss recommendations that will assist the customer with improving their material handling applications, prior to leaving job site. Determine items requiring quotation.
• Complete and provide proper electronic documentation utilizing the established company digital tools required for each service, obtaining the customer’s signature and acceptance.
• Generate sales leads during service calls and report to service office, following established guidelines.
• Read, understand and apply the contents of all OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI and other codes or regulations pertaining to our industry. Refresh and update knowledge periodically.
• Complete service reports and other required and appropriate documents in a professional, accurate, neat and legible manner and submit same in a timely manner and in accordance with established guidelines.
• Maintain regular communication with the service office and Planner, in accordance with established practices.
• Maintain all company issued equipment, vehicle and assets in a safe and proper working order. Operate tools, equipment and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Notify supervisor of any deficiencies for resolution.
