Job Description

Position Summary:

Astrodyne TDI is looking for a Quality Inspector for EMI Filters who is hands-on, works well in a team environment along with being an excellent team player with a positive attitude.  This position will require work in all aspects of the Quality process and system with the goal of improving Quality of the product. Technical responsibilities include support to customers, sales, and the Customer Service team for all AC/DC and DC/DC power supply products. Works closely with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Customer Service and Operations to create, prepare, execute sign-offs, and distribute quality documentation required by key personnel.  This position requires the ability to keep traceability of the filters they are building and the components they are using to build these filters while continuing to ensure that requirements are met without compromising safety or quality.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Quality Assurance Program under the Quality Manager.
  • Performs QC functions related to mechanical and/or electrical inspection of raw component materials, sub-assemblies & finished goods.
  • Read and understand product spec drawings.
  • Installs necessary external hardware as required by work order.
  • Provides & gathers information to be used for various product & production decisions.
  • Records measurement data in addition to 1st pass yield statistics for all products.
  • Documents concerning quality issues with the goal of obtaining Corrective & Preventive actions on these issues.
  • Assists the Product Quality Manager on ISO 9001/ISO 13485 systems and procedures.
  • Signs documentation to represent approval to ship or stock the product.
  • Maintain accountability and documentation of defective/non-conforming material.
  • Work as a cross-functional team member in coordination with management in the performance of all other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

A minimum of a H.S. diploma/GED is required.  Associate degree or equivalent experience with a background in electro-mechanical assembly manufacturing, preferably in power supplies or other related Electro-Mechanical operations is a plus.

The candidate should possess basic knowledge and use of Electrical Test Equipment and mechanical measuring devices along with computer operations knowledge needed to run spreadsheets and other office related software.  The individual should be able to read and understand product spec. drawings that are relevant to the inspection process.  The individual in this position must be fluent in writing, speaking, and understanding English with creative thinking and decision making acumen with solid problem solving skills.
