Job Description

Summary

Drivers will safely operate a heavy-duty truck and are responsible for preparing, loading, and transporting large dumpsters to various locations including disposal sites, transfer or recycle facilities, and residential or commercial locations.  These drivers must be able to navigate driveways, alleyways, parking lots, high traffic roadways and must be able to operate in tight environments while on routes while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.

 

Essential Functions and Duties

  1. Dumpster drop off and collection
    • Drive trucks following an established route
    • Turn in and complete proper end of the day documentation
    • Proper loading and securing of dumpsters
    • Notify dispatcher of any and all incidents, accidents, injuries or property damage
    • Identifies and reports all dumpsters in need of repair or replacement
  2. Proper operation and care of the vehicle
    • Maintain accurate records and logs
    • Refuel trucks or add fluids such as oil or coolant
    • Perform pre- and post- trip inspections of assigned equipment and truck
    • Keep the interior and exterior of the cab clean
    • Perform vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance before, during, and after trips
  3. Safety
    • Following pre-established safety policies and guidelines
    • Wearing proper PPE at all times
    • Following company rules and federal, state and local laws
  4. Customer Service
    • Respectfully and professionally deal with customers
    • Contact dispatch if there are any issues
    • Be polite and courteous at all times
  5. Other duties as assigned
