Job Description

A Tacoma-based architectural sheet metal company seeks an Architectural Sheet Metal Foreman to join their fun, hardworking team. $28-$35 per hour DOE.

What you will do:
• Install weatherproofing materials and architectural sheet metal including soffit, siding, flashing and roofing. Perform site prep and clean-up.
• Proactively manage employee performance and development. Provide on-the-job training to ensure workers are skilled and qualified to perform assigned duties. Consistently review the quality of work, general performance and attitude of the team.
• Ensure projects are completed consistently, accurately, timely and according to the highest quality standards. Read, understand and interpret plans and specifications as required and check work according to specifications. Lay out and measure roof/walls for components. Field verify dimensions.
• Manage the project site workflow, ensuring that each step is completed accurately, in order, and in coordination with other site subcontractors. Understand the production schedule and direct work of assigned crew to meet daily deliverables. Generate a 2-week schedule.
• Coordinate activities with site General Contractor and subcontractors. Ensure other subcontractors have completed their activities in preparation for the day’s work.
• Coordinate delivery of tools and materials to job site. Perform on-site coordination of manpower, materials and equipment. Ensure all machinery and tools are used correctly, well maintained and functioning properly.
• Closeout projects and ensure all required documentation, reports, and construction information is complete.
• Complete company required or regulatory documents (Weekly Safety Inspections, Fall Protection Form) . Ensure that project time and materials records are coded accurately and submitted daily. Escalate any discrepancies and issues to the Project Manager and Financial Controller.
• Maintain high level of safety and adherence to all safety policies and procedures for project activities. Perform site specific safety orientations including fall protection. Schedule, coordinate and conduct site inspections.
• Perform routine maintenance on company-provided vehicles including performing regular oil changes, tune-ups, and tracking gas receipts and expenses.

• 3-5 years or more sheet metal install experience
• Construction project management experience including layout, crew management, conflict resolution, and subcontractor coordination
• Ability to read blue prints and coordinate all material and equipment needed for the jobsite
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of water proofing, different types of fasteners, scaffold equipment, and an understanding of roof systems, and concepts of flashing
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Strong people management skills. Ability to maintain composure and lead in stressful or changing environments.
• Experience using hand and power tools - Must provide own hand tools. All safety gear and power tools will be provided by the company. Ability to read blue prints
• Broad knowledge of and adherence to safety standards including fall protection
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid state driver license, and the ability to travel to multiple locations based on project requirements
• Ability to adapt to changing technology and use a computer or tablet for communication and reporting
