Performs after solder assembly, and touch-up of solder joints to comply with IPC-610. Must understand the hand soldering process and be able to make good judgement concerning good and bad solder joints. Must use care in the operation of soldering irons, and understand safety issues related to hand soldering. Must be able to perform repetitive assembly tasks with accuracy and dexterity. Must be able to read and understand engineering documents.
Technical skills require the ability to use simple mechanical tools, to determine critical points of assembly, to identify component values, with working knowledge of IPC-610.
Must have good verbal communication skills and be able to develop a good rapport with other departmental members.
Will be sitting most of the shift but some heavy lifting of circuit boards may be required.
