JOB OBJECTIVES: To assist the Director of Anatomical Services in support of the various academic goals of the laboratories as well as the functioning of the willed body program. This includes preparation of the laboratories for academic activities for multiple courses utilizing the laboratories, assisting the Director of Anatomical Services in receiving, maintaining, and inventorying all supplies equipment and maintaining donation records and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This position will requires availability on four (4) Saturdays per trimester to cover open labs for students before practicals and periodically being on call 24-7 to answer calls about donations to cover the Director of Anatomical Services when they have to off. SUPERVISION RECEIVED FROM: Director of Anatomical Services, the Chairperson of the Department of Basic Sciences/ State Anatomical Board Representative, and the VP of College of Chiropractic SUPERVISION GIVEN TO WHOM: Individuals conducting activities in the Gross Human Anatomy Lab, students currently enrolled in the Human Gross Anatomy I and II courses, Teaching Assistants, and approved outside groups. STATUS : Nonexempt ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Be knowledgeable and conversant with the mission and goals of the Parker University and the Center for Academics. Be knowledgeable with the policies and procedures of the University and be willing to enforce the policies and procedures of the University. Treat all students in an equal and fair manner without showing arbitrary, malicious or capricious behavior. Attend all scheduled or called faculty meetings, committee meetings, graduations or other events as assigned and as appropriate for the University. Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or reports as may be required by the Director of Anatomical Services, Department Chairperson and/or the VP of College of Chiropractic. Follow the appropriate chain of command and communication. Maintain personal hygiene and the appropriate professional dress and demeanor. Gross Anatomy and Neuroscience Labs· Maintain cleanliness, repair, and organization of laboratories, instruments, equipment, models, and imaging. Assist Director of Anatomical Services with record keeping, preparation, maintenance, and disposal associated with cadavers and non-human specimens Prior to each course and with the oversight of the Course Director and/or Director of Anatomical Services, equip stations and organize all other aspects of the laboratory set up including equipment, models, and specimens Upon the conclusion of each laboratory, breakdown stations and ensure materials are properly handled and restocked Assist the Course Director with exams Assist faculty with AV needs in all laboratories Assist with inventory control Maintaining required student documentation Making lab available for students for open labs Other duties as assigned Willed Body Program Maintaining the office filing system, the multiple donor databases and all department inventory sheets and cadaver tracking. Filing required paperwork with the state departments in a timely manner Distributing correspondence as required Processing invoices JOB SPECIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/EXPERTISE: An individual with motivation and a high school diploma or GED; minimum of two (2) years in an administrative position or two (2) years of experience employed in an anatomical environment,( i.e. Medical Examiner, funeral home, mortuary, organ and tissue procurement, Human Anatomy laboratory.) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to move about readily; manual dexterity; ability to lift/carry at least fifty (50) lbs., and stand or sit for up to eight (8) hours per day. JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/ETC.: Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to work with videotaping equipment. Excellent Communication skills.
